What education, training, credentials and life experience do you have that help you in your work with preschoolers?
I studied history at VCU before changing gears completely and moving to New York City to be a freelance makeup artist! I moved back to Richmond, VA and met my husband and started my family. My youngest child, Carter, attended St. Paul’s for the last two years. Now that both of my children are in elementary school I have gone back to school to study early childhood education! Throughout the years I have really loved working with small groups of children- I taught ballet in high school to 2 year olds and have also had opportunities to work with elementary aged kids teaching them beginning theater makeup skills. I am so excited to learn and play this year with the Stars!
What year did you join the Preschool staff?
What class are you teaching this year?
What do you consider to be your hometown?
What are your most important teaching goals for the children in your class?
My most important goal is to instill a sense of independence and self-suffiency in my students. I want them to feel loved and cared for while they learn new things!
What do you like most about your job?
I love the teaching staff and administration at St, Paul’s! They were what drew my family to enroll my son and what drew me to apply to teach!
