What education, training, credentials and life experience do you have that help you in your work with preschoolers?

Besides having 6 children of my own, I have worked in a preschool as a teacher over 2 and 3 year olds, as an elementary school teacher, and ran a Mommy and Me group out of my home. I led the children’s program at our church for 3 1/2 years, and there were 170 kids ages 18 months to 12. I was a nanny for many years, and will always find a way to work with children.

What year did you join the Preschool staff?

What class are you teaching this year?

Wood and Clay Shop

What do you consider to be your hometown?

What are your most important teaching goals for the children in your class?

I want to teach them safety; I want them to enjoy the process as much as the product, and to gain confidence in their wood and clay shop skills. I want them to feel proud of their work that is done over time, and working towards a more finished final product.

What do you like most about your job?

I always enjoy working with children. Their candid natures bring joy to all. Watching their faces as they master a skill, or achieve a goal is priceless. I also enjoy having a creative outlet of my own, and enjoy the planning and executing of any project.
