What education, training, credentials and life experience do you have that help you in your work with preschoolers?

I was a pediatric oncology-hematology RN and then went to Bexley Hall Seminary to become a Vocational Deacon. I worked as volunteer and then became Minister of Christian Formation, Children and Youth Programs for a total of 30 years, including 11 years as an ordained Deacon. I have served as a Chaplain in a preschool setting for 10 years.

Houston, Texas

What are your most important teaching goals for the children in your care?

Reminding children of God’s love for them and that each was created and beautifully made by God. God’s love will always be with them.

What do you like most about your job?

Sharing Bible stories in creative ways, singing songs with children and seeing their enthusiasm.
