Emily Forrest

What education, training, credentials and life experience do you have that help you in your work with preschoolers?

I have a Bachelors of Fine Art in Creative Writing from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I also earned a certification in Professional Writing. After undergrad, I went to Salem and earned my NC Teaching License while I taught high school English. I also have experience working with elementary school-age children, and worked as a full time reading tutor at Meadowlark Elementary. I am also mom to three kiddos and two pups.

What are your most important teaching goals for the children in your class?

To teach the children how to use their creativity and play skills in learning and in life. I would like the children to be so busy having fun, that they don’t realize how much they are learning!

What do you like most about your job?

The sweet greetings and smiles I get every morning, and the fun art that the children make.
