At St. Paul’s Preschool, our Four Year Old Program’s goal is to allow each child to learn socially, emotionally, and academically in a nurturing, loving environment at their own pace. Our teacher/student ratio for our four-year-old classrooms are 2:16.
Children have the opportunity to learn to share, follow directions, and speak in front of a group, setting the foundation for life-long learning. Our program includes teaching letter and sound recognition, writing first name using upper and lower case letters, counting and recognizing numbers and calendar lessons such as reciting days of the week and months of the year.
We provide daily activities to improve fine motor skills, such as cutting with scissors, playing with Play Doh and stringing beads, which helps them prepare for the demands of kindergarten.
We encourage the children to be self-sufficient in caring for personal needs such as putting on coats, packing papers in book bags, and personal bathroom needs. Each week the four year old children are fortunate to attend several enrichment programs, including Science, Wood Shop/Clay Shop, Music and Chapel.
We are a high quality, play based program that allows children to learn, grow and explore the world around them in so many ways.
